An important new training programme for all Gas Engineers working on flueing for domestic appliances

  • Comprehensive and totally relevant
  • Instructive and fun
  • The latest interactive visual technology
  • A valuable and cost-effective investment
  • Written and developed by leading experts
This training programme is designed as an excellent refresher course and to improve Gas Engineers’ technical skills. It can be run in a classroom format or individually.

A complex topic brought-to-life

Flueing combines key theory, relevant facts, up-to-date information with the latest expert advice. It is presented both visually, and for additional emphasis, via an audio commentary. You are led through the topic in a logical progression and can take it at your own pace, checking your knowledge as you go by answering the short tests. The programme is dynamic and engaging using the latest visual technology.

Try out your skills in a virtual home

Having followed the six theory tutorials and completed the final test the programme launches you into a life-like exercise set in a typical house. It is both fun and instructive. You are invited to carry out a flue flow check for a boiler located in the living room in a two-storey house. It’s like stepping into a real home - seen through various camera angles which you control via on-screen instructions.

Safety, correctly following guidelines and customer service are all key issues. You decide what procedures to follow, which appliances to check, what tests to carry out and in what order.

A valuable course

Gas Engineers completing and implementing this training programme will:
  • Be up to date with the latest legislation and advice
  • Understand the technical requirements of flues
  • Be more confident in their approach

Key Elements of Flueing

Module 1 - Factors affecting flueing
Module 2 - Room sealed appliances
Module 3 - Open flue systems

Real-life scenario

In this exercise the user is required to carry out a flue flow continuity check on a boiler located in the living room. This exercise reinforces how critical it is to not only do the correct tests and procedures but in the correct order.

Feedback is provided as to how well the exercise has been carried out.

"The introduction of this training has been of great assistance in helping individuals to improve their current understanding. Those taking their ACS assessment use it as a useful revision tool."
